Nice rooms |
Very impressed with the size of the rooms. Large closet and full size fridge and stove. Wifi is not very good, the pools heaters don't seam to be working and the continental breakfast is very skimpy. No fresh fruit, no granola bars or pastry offered. Limited yogurt and often none. Stayed 2 weeks, housecleaning was well done but could never figure out the routine. Some days we received new towels, some days they made our bed other days nothing. Friendly and helpful staff. Will come again. Lots of activities to participate in.

Great place to stay for an extended time |
We have come to Victoria Palms off and on for years. Usually the place is full of fun-loving active senior adults. The park plans all kinds of activities, concerts, games, crafts, and opportunities for those who visit there. Mostly the guests are far-northerners who are trying to escape their brutal winters by going to a place with lots of sunshine and warm weather. However, this year was different. The far-northerners were not there. Most people stayed home to avoid COVID exposure. When we got there this March the place was not even 1/2 full. Usually we have trouble booking a suite. This year there were plenty of vacancies. This is not Victoria Palms fault. They were like the rest of us - trying to make the best of a bad situation. We ended up staying 10 days. There were no organized activities at the park. The dining room was only open a few hours a day with a limited menu. Nothing was handled face-to-face. We had to stand outside to even check in. The suite we were given was clean and roomy. There is plenty of storage room for a long -term stay of several months. The kitchen has a full sized stove and refrigerator. They also furnish a coffee maker, toaster, and microwave. Every 3 days they change the linens. The walk in closet has plenty of hanging room plus drawer and shelf storage. We had a king sized bed. The living room has a sofa bed, recliner, and swivel chair. The furniture was very nice. The dining room had an expandable table and 6 chairs. If you decide to go, you might want to bring a couple of lawn chairs and maybe a folding table. I noticed that some of the other visitors were sitting outside their apartments playing cards and making new friends. This is our favorite place to stay in South Texas. It is safe and pleasant. They have two pools and a hot tub plus a lot of other courts for sports. In a non-COVID year this place is fun!
